Beauty: Inside & Out

Here's my blog! You can follow me while I am in Ecuador this summer! I'll post as much as I can!!

This picture was taken 2 years ago as I made my first trip to Ecuador.  I wanted to make this my first post because it's beautiful!  Ecuador is a beautiful country, from the capital city, Quito with over 2 million people, to the jungle with people that have never even seen white people before.  But you can go to any tall building or hill and look out to see some sort of amazement.  Today, I went on a walk in  St. Paul and looked out at the city and river; it was beautiful.  But then I looked down to see trash and dirty streets. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."  This verse reminded me that in God's greatness of beauty, there is corruption from the fall of man, and our lives aren't meant to live in oblivion to that corruption.  Our lives aren't meant to be in complete peace in this world we live in either.  Our lives are meant to be distinct from the world but for the world.  I am so excited to be going back to see more of God's beauty, but through His beauty, I hope to shine God's greatness on others so that they too can be transformed and see that the world is not just a pretty view from on a hill, but it can it can be beautiful on the streets and in the hearts of others as well.
