I am HOME! It took a 4 hour delay in Quito due to a storm, and a 9 hour plane ride, but I made it home and went straight to the doc. Thank the Lord, I have been recovering very well, and I am almost healed from the infection. Thank you so much for your prayers while I was sick and throughout the summer. I have truly witnessed the power of prayer in the strength God has given me every day. Being apart of Youth World in Ecuador has been life changing for me, and for the people I have come encountered with. I thank them for their continuous support as I was leading teams and as I left Ecuador.
After the last team left, I had a few days off before everyone pilled in a tiny bus and went to Papallaca. Papallaca is a small town 13,000 feet up just nestled in the clouds. It was very cold, but after final debrief, we hopped in the hot springs. This was a time of relaxation, rest, and reflection, however my experience was slightly different. I thought I was relapsing again because I was probably in more pain than I had ever experienced since the beginning of this sickness. After we got back, we had a last dinner, and I had my last day in Quito.
I am very thankful to be home, and I am still in the transition stage of being home. But this transition isn't about conforming to society, rather living a transformed life at home. Thank you for you all of your prayers and support. Everyday God has surprised me with things I thought I could never do, but it was through the power of prayer. I have been stretched, molded and challenged in Ecuador, and I hope to let that continue. Thank you again so much for this opportunity and believing that this was my calling. We all have different gifts that God has called us to use in this life. We might leave home, or we might stay at home, but wherever and whatever it is, we can still all come together as one body of Christ.
Romans 12:4-5 "For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another."
