You are My Beloved

Last week, several missionaries and I came together for a breakfast.  3 years ago, I was apart of a short-term team with Woodbury Lutheran Church.  Several of the ladies and I provided a pampering day for the Ecuadorian ladies at a particular ministry site.  We gave them hand massages, made jewelry with them and shared testimonies.  I still remember the glow they had on their face.  I hoped that that day, they felt incredibly special, wanted and loved.

So at this breakfast, a short-term team provided breakfast, devotion, and love to us missionaries at Reach Beyond.  I was really taken by their act of love, in that as a missionary, we too, need to know that we are special.  We were reminded that we are beautiful, every part of us, even the darkest parts in us.
“All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you”
(Song of Solomon 4:7).

One of the articles I wrote for Control Z was about insecurities.  We, specifically as women have so much pressure on us in this world, yet we are not reminded how important we really are.  But we have a God who pursues us, who wants us to be all that we are, to step boldly into this world and proclaim His name, and do the best we can with the gifts He has given us.

“My beloved spoke and said to me, Arise, my darling, my beautiful one.  Come with me.” (Song of Solo. 2:10-13)

So remember, you are special, and you are wanted   by a God that desires every part of you.
