The Parents Came To Town!

Ecuador is a beautiful place, and like any place that someone has not been to, people have perceptions of it.  Sometimes they're accurate but a lot of times, they are inaccurate.  Although I've told my parents many stories of my times in Ecuador, they finally got a taste for a few days.  The best way I can recap their time here is through pictures.  Here are some of my favorites:

This was horseback riding on Volcano Pichincha.  It was Juan Miguel's first time riding a horse!

This was my parents highlight of there time in Ecuador.
Visiting the middle of the world and learning so much about the culture
This was on Volcano Pichincha overlooking Quito.
So I truly believe in the phrase "never judge a book by its cover.  We never truly know what a country is like until we dive into the culture.  There's a million touristy things you can do in any country, but it's not until you learn about the culture that makes you appreciate a country.  I believe that's why my parents enjoyed Mitad del Mundo (middle of the world) the most.  They learned about Ecuador's culture through stories, food, and getting know Ecuadorians.  Although it was just a taste, even a taste can change perceptions.  We all come from different backgrounds.  So be curious; get to know each other and other cultures, or even a country for that matter.

We have a creative God, and we are holding ourselves back when we resist to embrace the beauty he created.
This is the Panecillo (Virgin Mary); it overlooks Quito.
