What Is Your Mission Field?

A  few updates here:

•  Cotopaxi is still brewing consistently.  Mainly, it is spewing ash and water every once in a while.  The government has been proactive in equipping and training people for the worst.
•   Fires have been very frequent lately.  Though illegal, many farmers burn their fields in preparation for a new crop.  These fires can get out of hand, but actually many of these fires have been intentionally done.  Thankfully, they caught the people who did it.
Lately, I have been writing a lot of articles!  My focus is on reflection pieces which has led me to my own reflection:

Being a Christian writer on social media is a challenging thing.  So much of me wants to write deep Christian articles about forgiveness, grace and mercy, but most of the time, non-Christians don't want to hear that stuff.  70% of viewers on the social media site I am writing for are non-Christians.  So I am challenged to strategically write my articles pointing to Christ but not being completely obvious and in their face.  It is a process of trial and error.  But I think this experience has taught me that the mission field is not just about running a VBS, building a church or feeding the homeless.  The mission field, for me is through a social media site in Ecuador.

A lot of my mission experiences in the past have led me to working with churches and schools in doing construction and VBS.  But I have to admit that this experience has changed my idea in what a missionary is.

I have met so many missionaries that do the behind the scenes work.  That would include, figuring out budgets, recruiting missionaries, accounting stuff, running social media sites, etc.  But they're missionaries! Shouldn't we expect them to be building a church and feeding the homeless?  Sure, that is a part of being a missionary, but we all have different parts in God's kingdom.

We are all blessed with different gifts!
To blend in more, I finally broke down
and dyed my hair!

You don't have to travel across the world to make an impact on God's Kingdom.  Your mission field might be right at your own school and/or work.  So my mission right now may not be building a church, running a VBS, or hosting short-term missionaries like I have in the past.  My mission has been humbling me to work behind the scenes (praying, filming, writing articles) for the people beyond my computer screen.

"So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ and individually we are parts of another [mutually dependent on one another" (Romans 12:5).

•  What are some gifts God has given you?

•  How can you use those gifts God has given you for His Kingdom?

•  What is your mission field?
